USDA - Northwest Irrigation and Soils Research  The mission of the Laboratory is to develop environmentally compatible and economically sustainable new and improved integrated water, soil, nutrient and crop management practices for irrigated agriculture in the United States.   The soil scientists at Kimberly Idaho have provided a large volume of knowledge about polyacrylamide (PAM).  This site is often referred to as the “PAM PAGE”.
EPA The Federal EPA works to develop and enforce regulations that implement environmental laws enacted by Congress. EPA is responsible for researching and setting national standards for a variety of environmental programs, and delegates to states and tribes the responsibility for issuing permits and for monitoring and enforcing compliance. Where national standards are not met, EPA can issue sanctions and take other steps to assist the states and tribes in reaching the desired levels of environmental quality.

State (CA):
CDFA The California Department of Food and Agriculture’s Plant Health and Pest Prevention Services mission is to provide leadership of pest prevention and management programs that effectively protects California’s agriculture, horticulture, natural resources, and urban environments.
CDPR California Dept of Pesticide Regulation endeavors to protect people and the environment while regulating the pesticides and applicators  by enforcing California’s pesticide laws and regulations.  Here is information on the state regulations, registration processes, enforcement activities, and pest control licensing.  
Cal EPA The California Environmental Protection Agency (Cal/EPA) was created in 1991; there are  six Boards within the Cal/EPA "umbrella" for the protection of human health and the environment and to assure the coordinated deployment of State resources.  Cal EPA’s mission is to restore, protect and enhance the environment, to ensure public health, environmental quality and economic vitality.
CHP The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is dedicated to providing quality safety, service, and security of the citizens of California.  In addition to patrolling the state highways, the “CHP” is also California’s primary Police unit and is one the most highly trained, motivated and dedicated group of officers anywhere in the world. 
CalTrans Caltrans provides and maintains more than 45,000 miles of California's highway and freeway lanes, provides inter-city rail services, permits more than 400 public-use airports and special-use hospital heliports, and works with local agencies. Caltrans manages six primary programs: Aeronautics, Highway Transportation, Mass Transportation, Transportation Planning, Administration and the Equipment Service Centers.

 The California Air Resources Board, a division of the California Environmental Protection Agency, promotes and protects public health, welfare and ecological resources through the effective reduction of air pollutants.
